Why I'm selling the Dakota R/T

If you're confused as to why a truck whose virtues I was just recently extolling is now for sale, let me explain.

First, I have an out-of-state move coming up. There's a part of me that loves the Dakota, but there's also a part of me that realizes it's been here the shortest amount of time and is the most easily replaced if want another one.

Second, I've never really been a diehard American car/truck guy. I can appreciate them and I loved having a burly V8 in the fleet. But I can freely admit that build quality really does matter to me, and I like sitting in cars that are three decades old and still incredibly "tight." It's superficial, I realize, but it's what I'm used to. And I don't need a truck enough to overlook the value of a high-end cockpit.

Third, I have my eye on another car that will likely hold its value far better over the long term, if not start to appreciate nicely. The Dakota needs to go to free up budget dollars, and the car in question is one I can more readily use in a pinch of a highway drive. The Dakota is many things, but it is not a commute-friendly vehicle.

All told, this has been a great truck for me and one I'm happy to see leave in far better shape than it arrived. It's for sale for no other reason than it's been here the shortest amount of time and it offers the least amount of ROI in terms of usefulness in my lifestyle; the fact that it can't accommodate car seats in the jump seat area is a pretty big deal-breaker these days with two little ones at home.

I hope it finds a forever home soon - reach out if you're interested.
