One aspect of the Dakota R/T project that came up as a priority far sooner than expected was gutting and re-freshening of the interior. It was tired, and the condition reflected what most domestic trucks look like after a few years in the Florida sun. The seats didn't have much cushioning from the factory and time hadn't done them any favors. The headliner and carpet were both cosmetically tired and replacing them seemed like a straightforward way to make the cockpit more attractive over the long-haul.

The good news is unlike most of the foreign nonsense I own, replacing the interior of a domestic pickup truck is a simple affair. The carpet kit was a simple phone call away, and a new black headliner replaced the tattered original one. The finishing touch was a set of Corbeau bucket seats in black to allow for the quick disposal of the wrecked originals. Thanks to Charles St. Auto and Boat Top in Providence for the quick turnaround.

It has made the Dakota a far nicer place to spend time, and the Corbeau seats are a perfect compromise between being slightly more sporty without being overly-bolstered.
