One of the best feelings in the world is opening up a glovebox or looking under the seat and finding a treasure trove of records you didn't know existed. That's exactly what happened this week with the 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle we've had listed here on the site.

This Super Beetle was already known to be in good order with no rust to speak of and an engine that had clearly been freshened up. But now we have the records that break out the mechanical refresh in great detail and confirm over $4,000 was spent sorting out the engine.

New clutch, oversized pistons, fuel system overhaul - all of the normal details you'd see on a car that had its engine torn down and rebuilt. We've always said records can transform a car's history from hearsay to reality, and that's exactly what happened here with this sweet-running Super Beetle.
