This is an incredibly dumb exercise. I bought a big brake kit for the Eurovan, with the premise being that the loss of ABS from the manual conversion somehow justifies spending money on nonsense like this.
It really doesn’t. But with the VW Beach Bash coming up in October and this being my first year running it, I felt compelled to step up the Eurovan’s game a bit with one of the few OEM+’upgrades available for it.
The kit was built by a ship in Europe and distributed by ECS Tuning here in the U.S. It amounts to a set of larger drilled rotors, steel lines, an adapter plate, 996 calipers, and new pads (pick your poison.)
I have a date with German Motors in September to install them: fingers crossed it’s as plug-and-play as they promise.
