So, what's happening with the 1991 Saab 900 Turbo manual transmission swap? Short answer, not much. When you want the best in the business to work on your classic car, it's an easy choice to be patient. Conntech Saab Specialists has, on average, 40+ 900s of different ages and condition waiting for their chance under Mike Connelly's capable hands, and at last check, the Monte Carlo Yellow 900 is getting closer to the top of the lineup.
I did swing by with some parts to hopefully spur some progress, including a nice set of 16" Super Aero wheels mounted on new BF Goodrich tires, along with some very tasty Koni Adjustables and some reportedly "good" brand of Swedish-made lowering springs.
The plan at last check is to address some sporadic fuel pump issues; it's likely just tired from years of being the original owner's second car for running to the beach. There's a whole list of jobs to do "while you're in there," so this is by no means just a manual conversion - we'll basically end up performing a complete mechanical restoration before everything is said and done. But at this point, with plans for my two little ones and wife to ride along in the Saab, the name of the game is achieving maximum reliability.
