Replacing the Audi V8 Quattro's motor mounts

One of the lingering jobs on the 1990 Audi V8 Quattro has been the replacement of the three main engine mounts. All three had lost their internal fluid ages ago, likely due to the fact that OEM replacements are hard to find. Today was the day to replace them with new mounts.

So, you have one on each side and one in the middle. None of them are available new. The middle one I found a polyurethane copy from some random guy in Europe who took it upon himself to make copies. The other two aren't a perfect solution, but a company called 034 Motorsports makes a pair of mounts used for later models that cane be modified to work in the V8.

The primary adjustment you have to make it to cut a few inches off the threaded rod that secures the mount to the chassis. Not a big deal and my shop, German Motors, was able to make this tweak and successfully install all three mounts today. As you can see in the photos, this was time and money well spent based on how much the original mounts had deteriorated.
