I do not miss the Rover

For a fleeting moment, I thought I gave up on the 1995 Range Rover County too soon. After all, my friend Jeff basically told me with zero effort by me to confirm that the truck was a lost cause. Aside from the engine, everything was locked up or very clearly not working. Seats, windows, door locks, even the transmission shifter were all seemingly bound up beyond easy release.

Still, it was a complete truck that represented a desirable year and configuration. But I've learned to read the tea leaves, and Jeff clearly was waving the white flag before he got too far into it. The last thing I want to do is have a friend who's also doing work for me turn into a disgruntled partner, and given the Trooper RS restoration took off in the past few weeks, the Rover would have been competing for limited resources.

It went to Florida. It took two weeks' worth of attempts for the buyer's shipping company to get the car truck out of here. So far, I've heard nothing, and I hope it stays that way. Do I still want one? Kind of. But given the recent success with the the Trooper, I'm inclined to stick with Japanese SUVs from here on out.
