Maintenance Summary
This invoice represents a comprehensive mechanical refresh of the 964 C2 — addressing the engine, transmission, ignition, suspension, A/C system, steering, power steering, and sunroof. It includes extensive preventative maintenance to bring the car closer to factory condition and improve reliability.
Major Engine & Transmission Service
- Engine & Transmission Removal:
- Removed engine, transmission, and all accessories down to long block.
- Replaced valve covers, gaskets, chain housings/covers, guide pins, seals, washers, and nylocks.
- Adjusted valve clearance, set timing, and reassembled with timing verification.
- Cleaned and reinstalled injectors, replaced fuel hoses and pressure regulator, refinished fan housing and fan blade.
- Replaced engine mounts.
- Ignition System Overhaul:
- Replaced distributor, rotors, caps, ignition coils, checked spark plug wire resistance, and verified ground connections.
Transmission & Oil System Work
- Found transmission oil cooler line leaks, removed front bumper and shields, replaced lines.
- Transmission Service: Removed oil pan, replaced filter and gaskets, refilled with Liqui Moly ATF D6.
- Attempted repair of backordered oil pipe (943 307 073 04).
- Replaced transmission drain plug, oil pan seal, and O-rings.
Fuel & Intake System
- Cleaned and calibrated injectors.
- Replaced fuel pump (BOSCH OEM).
- Inspected fuel lines (full inspection during engine removal).
Cooling & A/C System
- Found leaking A/C compressor; replaced with Denso OEM compressor.
- Recovered and refilled system with R134 freon.
Front Suspension Overhaul
- Found cracked lower control arm bushings — replaced with Powerflex urethane bushings.
- Replaced steering rack bushings (Rothsport Racing), RS-spec inner/outer tie rods, and steering rack boots.
- Removed/reinstalled spring plates with new bushings.
- Performed 4-wheel alignment.
Power Steering System
- Installed seal kit for power steering pump, rebuilt pump, reinstalled.
Electrical / Tiptronic
- Diagnosed no-start condition; replaced defective Tiptronic switch and reinstalled console.
Sunroof Work
- Installed new front/rear/side sunroof seals and rubber strips.
- Removed sunroof from vehicle, checked operation after reinstallation.
- Installed new hinge and lever kit.
